For Open Manors Day 2024
“4 steps in the Middle Ages”
Monday May 1st is the day dedicated to Open Manors.
The Contrada San Bernardino organizes a day with a truly medieval flavour.
Medieval table & ribs: foods and crockery from the period (takeaway also available)
Archers’ Camp: Baptism of the Bow for all ages in collaboration with the Hammer Archers
The art of falconry: performances of birds of prey and falconry show with Baptism of the Glove with ASD Royal Falconry
Artisans in the street: blacksmiths, tanners, merchants and tailors with workshops and historical re-enactment products
Medieval games: for all ages along the Via Somalia
Museum exhibition of Contrada clothes: in the Hall of Arms of the Manor with guides throughout the entire route
Baptism of the Saddle: putting the little ones in the saddle with the ponies of the La Sella Equestrian Center
Carriage ride: through the streets of the Contrada to discover stories and anecdotes
Embroidery workshop: with the Contrada Costume Commission, at 10.30 am and 3.00 pm
Awards ceremony for the “Draw your Contrada” competition: 4.00 pm with the students of the Rita Levi Montalcini school in via Parma
Furthermore, at 5.00 pm, the Contrada Baptisms will be celebrated.
