79th anniversary of the “Liberation”. In Salerno at 9am, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Holy Mass in memory of the fallen officiated by Father Raffaele Bufano and Don Giuseppe Greco, provincial chaplain of the State Police with the reading of the “Partisan’s Prayer”. At 9.40 in Piazza Vittorio Veneto the laying of laurel wreaths on the War Memorial and on the tombstone of Partisan Lieutenant Ugo Stanzione, then the reading of the “Prayer of the Fatherland” and the greeting of the Prefect of Salerno with commemorative messages from of the mayor of Salerno, the president of the Province, a representative of the trade union organizations (CISL), a representative of the National Association of Fighters and Veterans and of the National Association of Italian Partisans of Salerno. At 10.25am at the Sailor’s Monument there will be the flag-raising and the laying of the laurel wreath of the National Sailors’ Association of Italy with the reading of the “Sailor’s Prayer”, while at 10.40am in Piazza XXV Aprile there will be it will be the laying of a bundle of flowers by the President of the ANPI of Salerno. Finally, at 11.10 am at the Provincial Palace a laurel wreath will be laid by the Authorities and Partisan Associations at the foot of the plaque commemorating the Gold Medals of the Resistance.
