«Honey is awake! She makes me cry with emotion and I wait anxiously to find out more.” This is the latest update on the health conditions of the little dog who was found on Monday 22 April by a woman in the Cruillas neighbourhood, dying in a waste bin. On the Facebook wall of the volunteer who then took him to a veterinary clinic, there were many prayers and emotion from those who were following the story with apprehension.

The umpteenth event in Palermo sadly sees animals as protagonists, once again victims of unprecedented violence. Suffice it to say that Honey, when she was found, had holes on her head. Among the hypotheses, that they had shot him before abandoning him, still alive, in a bag. The doctors who treated him subsequently ascertained that the little dog had been hit with a pickaxe.

«Two sharp blows from the pickaxe – wrote Valeria Galletti – which pierced the skull causing cerebral hemorrhages. She was bleeding from the head, nose and mouth.” Honey, until a few hours ago, was in a coma. «We don’t know if she will survive and how she will – continued the volunteer who has also launched a fundraiser in which many are participating to support medical treatment -. Neurological damage could remain, such as epilepsies and many other deficits. There will be a lot of treatments and tests to do.” Today the news that rekindles hopes: «A hymn to life, Honey is awake. I just left the clinic, she seems to be alert. Very scared, she moves, he was fed and he liked it. I promised him that I will let him out of the clinic on a leash, I owe it above all to you who are giving him all your energy.”
