Also on video is Antonio Tajani. «Reguzzoni will run as an independent and will address the issues dear to the North. He will be part of the team of our parliamentarians and will know how to do well. I am convinced that he will achieve an excellent result.”
Letizia Moratti he is running for office in Europe «because this vote is essential for improvement. We need a safer Europe, which creates jobs, sensitive to the environment but with pragmatism and without ideology. I have known Marco Reguzzoni for some time and have worked with him with great harmony. He has vision and is rooted in the territory and knows the problems and knows how to translate them into politics. We must defend our borders by combating irregular immigration, support the defense industrial system, start growing again and become more competitive. We need to lighten the bureaucracy and pay more attention to micro businesses as well as SMEs. We must have an integrated energy market. Sustainability must be compatible with the times. We need to review the directive on electric cars and green homes. 94 percent of the municipalities are at risk of landslides and disasters and for this reason we must give value to farmers. Let’s keep the positive side of welfare by keeping the person and their freedoms at the center.”
“We have to beat Basilicata badly.” Marco Reguzzoni begins jokingly which explains why he has not participated directly in politics for eight years.
«I left when the Monti government arrived in 2012. At that time Bossi was firmly at the head of the League. I haven’t had a membership card for that party for 12 years. Our goal is to recover votes from those who no longer vote. I am a convinced liberal federalist. Bossi was a political tiger and I grew up with him. In the province we achieved a lot when we governed: the cycle path on Lake Varese, on the Olona, the dam, the university together with the then PDS. We brought the cycling world championships. Mine was an extraordinary team and we shared important projects. In Parliament we created the Reguzzoni Versace law on Made in Italy but today it is ineffective because 80 percent of the European market does not depend on Italy. Now that law needs to become a European regulation. We live from textiles and dyeing is central. These moved to Türkiye with very bad results for us. We need to ensure that our economy is protected. The value comes from production and agriculture. Europe must recover its industrial dimension. We need to bring the northern airport system back to the center. Our value is work and I will defend this in Europe. The EPP is a government party and can be counted on there. Tonight Silvio (referring to Berlusconi, ed.) he would be happy and proud to see me here. We must work to get people to vote and make them vote for the EPP. Our territory must count. Our opponent is the Democratic Party which is nominating someone who wants to welcome everyone. Our concept is clear: those who work come. Europe is indispensable and without Europe we are dead.”
Reguzzoni concluded with a promise: “I will be the parliamentarian of the whole territory, I want to be your arm and not the speaker and you will measure me on concrete results”.
After Marco Reguzzoni they intervened Marco Magrinipresident of the Province e Nicola Mucciformer mayor of Gallarate and leader of Forza Italia: «Reguzzoni’s candidacy is great news because it puts federalism and the North back at the centre».
