BADIA POLESINE (Rovigo) – On April 30th, a piece of food distribution history in Badia will close its doors. The giant of food distribution “Eurospar” has decided to close the store in via Bovazecchino, 180, relocating the employees elsewhere.
In recent days the employees (who assure that they have all been relocated to other locations) are demobilizing the shelves.
Naturally, nothing else transpires from the top management of what is now the largest purchasing center in Italy, but the councilor for commercial activities Mariagrazia Ragazzini speaks of unsustainable management costs (rent) and some investments in the premises that would have been borne by the group. Reasons that pushed Aspiag Management AG (company of the Spar Austria group) to the drastic closure decision.
However, the store in via Rosini, 80 will still remain open (behind the church).
Regular customers can only take advantage of the 30% discount on all remaining goods from 26 to 30 April.
From what councilor Ragazzini stated, it seems that, for the moment, there are no seriously interested investors in the headquarters in via Bovazecchino.
