In the auditorium of San Luigi in Trani the magistrate Catello Maresca presented his book “The State always wins”
A glimpse of real life, the story of the capture and arrest of the super fugitive Michele Zagaria, Scarlet Pimpernel of the Casalesi clan and discovered by the Prosecutor Maresca in an underground bunker in his town in Casalapenna.
A video accompanying the book was also shown with images of the discovery of the bunker where Michele Zagaria was hiding and his arrest. A meeting on legality and justice promoted by the UNICA association, the Italian National Anti-Mafia Union and organized in the area by Raffaella Merra and Dr. Domenico Briguglio.
Doctor Maresca has been under guard since 2008 because he was sentenced to death by criminal organisations. After listening to the speeches of all the speakers, he focused on some crucial points: the importance of talking about legality to young people, to children in schools, about the regime 41bis prison necessary to break criminals’ relationships with the outside world, the absurdity of releases in the Covid period, of pardons.
