The “Nicola Sala” State Conservatory of Music of Benevento will confer an honorary degree on the Neapolitan singer-songwriter. Ceremony at the Municipal Theater.
Honorary degree for Gigi D’Alessio from the State Conservatory of Music “Nicola Sala” of Benevento. The great Neapolitan singer-songwriter, author of timeless hits, such as “Don’t ever tell him”, “What do you know”, “Annarè” And “How the heart shines”, will be awarded, on Tuesday 30 April 2024, the honorary degree, awarded to him “by virtue of his contribution to the Pop discipline of Songwriting”. The ceremony will be held at the Municipal Theater of the Samnite capital, at 7.00 pm. A few years ago, the same news, spread by mayor Clemente Mastellahad been denied by the Conservatory.
The reasons for the honorary degree given to Gigi D’Alessio
Satisfaction was expressed by the director Joseph Ilariowho commented:

This award demonstrates our commitment – as a Conservatory – to recognising, valorising and promoting the plurality of artistic languages existing in the contemporary musical panorama”.

Gigi D’Alessio, during his long career full of successes, he was also appointed “ambassador of Neapolitan music” by the Municipality of Naples in 2022. The great Neapolitan singer-songwriter and musician of international fame – he has sold over 26 million records worldwide – received the award at the Maschio Angioino “Naples, city of music”, in recognition of the city for his artistic career which brought Neapolitan song and music to the world. In recent years, Gigi has managed to fill the Diego Armando Maradona stadium and Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples several times with his great shows.
