The Umbria regional council has decided to make the sums available, over 11.5 million euros, for the new ordinary plan for the recovery and containment of waiting lists, a plan which follows the extraordinary one, implemented last year. year, which led to the complete reduction of the approximately 80 thousand services accumulated before May 2023. To date, the number of health services in the protection programs has stabilized at around 55 thousand units, a number that the Council wants to further and structurally reduce through the new Plan.

Pending any operational provisions from the national Government, specifically regarding the waiting lists, the Region, for their recovery, will be able to count on 7.3 million euros divided as follows: 1.5 million for the Perugia Hospital and as many 1.5 million for that of Terni, while Local Health Authorities 1 and 2 will each have 2.151 million euros available. To these sums are added the allocations of 2.98 million euros for the additional hourly services of public medical staff and 1.3 million for the additional services of non-medical staff in the public health sector, for a total, as mentioned, of over 11.5 million.

The timetable now envisages: by 6 May a further numerical survey of the services to be addressed by type and priority, in order to have a very current framework on the basis of which, by 13 May, to plan their disposal from the point of view operating.

A meeting is scheduled for May 14th to review the Plan itself and to determine the timing for implementing the recovery of previous benefits and the management of new ones.
