GROSSETO – On Friday 26 April 2024, as part of the 44th Madonnino Fair in Grosseto, a study day organized by the Central-West Section of the Georgofili Academy will take place at 3.00 pm in the Science and Technology Pavilion, on: “Mechanization of companies Precision Farming and Agriculture 5.0″.

The new technological possibilities in terms of services, procedures, automatic and robotic devices make a future scenario possible in which the agricultural enterprise can produce more with fewer energy resources. This can be achieved with a timely optimization of production processes and requires a conceptual evolution towards the improvement of each individual phase, through a digitalized system of observation, analysis, decision support processes such as artificial intelligence and consequently precise and targeted execution best possible practices.

The study day analyzes some fundamental pillars: management engineering, new generation machines and systems, water, crop and soil control technologies. These guide the new approach for a more efficient future agriculture, integrated into the territories and typical features, strongly linked to the improvement of environmental factors, capable of responding to needs and attractive on the market.
As Prof. Marco Vieri, Professor of Agricultural Mechanics at the University of Florence, underlines: “Financing sources are fundamental in this process revolution which requires a change of vision of agriculture, of the related implementation methods and tools, of the enterprise agro-forestry-environmental increasingly integrated through digitalisation and the smart villages approach to the urban community”.

“Agriculture 5.0 is sustainable agriculture, from a productive, environmental and social point of view. New technologies can help optimize production yield without tiring the land, using fewer chemicals, not wasting water, making the most of climatic conditions. Technology does not replace the experience and competence of people, but allows farmers to improve the quality of the products and the daily work in the fields” states Marco Neri, president of Confagricoltura Toscana.
