The celebrations of April 25th in Cuneo – The Guide

Thursday 25 Aprilstarting from 9.15 and throughout the morning, the institutional ceremonies will take place commemoration of the fallen. It will start from the Fresia Gardens with the City of Cuneo’s tribute to the War Memorial, and then continue at 9.30 with the laying of wreaths at the Resistance Monument in the presence of the Authorities.
Subsequently, tributes will be paid at the “Ignazio Vian” Barracks in San Rocco Castagnaretta near the Cippo in memory of Vian himself, at the tomb of Duccio Galimberti in the Madonna degli Angeli Sanctuary and at the Tetto Croce Cippo.
At 10.30 the ceremony will continue at the Urban Cemetery, where a religious celebration will take place at the Partisan Mausoleum, with homage and laying of wreaths and reading of Gino Giordanengo’s poetry. This will be followed by tributes and the laying of wreaths at the tomb of Mayor Ettore Rosa, the Famedio and the Fallen Military Ossuary.
During the day a free shuttle will be available to follow the institutional ceremony commemorating the fallen.
The Liberation Day will end at 9pm Toselli Theatre where it will go on stage “Someone will find my name – Narration about the life of Lidia Rolfi”, a show organized by the “Duilio del Prete” Company with the collaboration of the “Giovanni Toselli” Theater Academy. The text is freely reworked by Chiara Giordanengo. Directed by Luigi Cando, assistant director Claudia Ferrari, music and lights by Marco Verra. Free admission.

Also tomorrow (April 25th) one is scheduled bike trip organized by Fiab Cuneo Bicingiro in Ceretto, a hamlet on the border between the municipalities of Costigliole Saluzzo and Busca where on 5 January 1944 there was a roundup by the Nazi-fascist which ended with the shooting of 27 civilians and 27 houses set on fire. Meeting at 9.30 at the Resistance park.
