Serious accident in via Oltrecolle in Como around 2.50pm on Wednesday 24 April: a woman, whose age is not yet known, is in serious condition after her car hit the guard rail and as a consequence of the impact she invaded the opposite lane.

It has not been possible at the moment to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, but no other vehicle appears to have been involved: it will be clarified in the next few hours whether the cause of the loss of control of the car, thrown downhill on via Oltrecolle, by the woman there was an illness. Medical vehicles and the Como Blue Cross rushed to the scene. The conditions of the woman behind the wheel are very serious: the doctors who rescued her, in fact, classified her as code red of extreme urgency and transported her to hospital.
A long queue of cars formed along Via Oltrecolle: traffic was in fact blocked in both directions to allow emergency services to intervene. Queues also on the Lavatoi viaduct and on the state road to Lecco, from Como towards Lipomo. Police officers and firefighters were on site.
