If Fiorello is a star of the first magnitude in Italy, it is reasonable to assume that this does not also apply to foreign countries: despite this, however, the irresistible Sicilian showman still had the opportunity to gain some satisfaction even outside national borders . Who remembers him, for example, ne The Talented Mr. Ripley?

It was 1999 when the Italian spectators of Anthony Minghella’s film found themselves in front, surprisingly, of what was already one of the best-known television characters in our country: if the presence of Fiorello on national channels it was the norm, however, it was quite another thing to see him intent on duetting, together with his brother Beppe, with two young but already very successful Jude Law and Matt Damon!

The story of the National Rosary’s participation in The Talented Mr. Ripley is actually very simple: “Minghella had written the scene in Tu Vuo’ fa’ l’Americano just for me, after that he had seen me sing it in a club in Ischia. I also went to the Oscars, everyone told me ‘stay with us’, I was all in with Meryl Streep but I just wanted to go back to home” explained the person concerned some time ago.

Minghella evidently found our Fiore very nice, and therefore decided to summon him for a meeting very small part in his film, finding its availability immediately! We, however, return to the present day: here you will find our review of Ripley, the series released in recent weeks on Netflix (this time without Fiorello).

On Top Gun: Maverick (Blu-ray) It is one of today’s best sellers.
