The striker of Team Altamura, Riccardo Lattanziospoke to TMW about the promotion to Serie C achieved on Sunday: “We were a balanced team, of real men before being athletes, with a strong and eager club behind us that always believed in us, and from the beginning. The Group Serie D is tough, there are no tough teams and you can win and lose with anyone, but we were strong even in difficulties, we never lost ground and the result arrived and mental strength, we reached the top of the rankings straight away and it wasn’t easy, there could have been a decline but the desire and determination made the difference. The closeness of the management and the top management, as well as that of the city, were then the perfect mix for writing history.”
A promotion is always nice, but after 27 years it actually tastes even more special…
“Exactly. Not only that, the owners have never competed with a Serie C championship before, but they dreamed of it, they were structuring it. And the achievement is historic for everyone.”
There are still 180 minutes left until the end of the season. When will it be difficult to keep your attention high?
“I don’t think it will be difficult, because we are aware that attention must be kept high because no one has given us anything, and we also need respect for the other teams who still have something to say in the season, for their own personal objectives. Objectives that we still have it too: the seven points advantage from second place must be maintained.”
