The former mayor of Anzio Candido De Angelis was heard yesterday afternoon at the prosecutor’s office in Rome and answered the questions of the prosecutors of the DDA Giovanni Musarò and Alessandra Fini.
De Angelis, we remember, is under investigation together with other former councilors and councilors for vote swapping and did not back down from the Magistrates’ questions.
“He answered all the questions from the prosecutors intending to clarify his position. He remains confident in the decisions that the judicial authority will want to take,” he said to Adnkronos at the end of the interrogation the lawyer Pierpaolo Dell’Anno who defends the former mayor together with his colleague Giuseppe Murone.
Last April 12, three other suspects summoned by the magistrates had exercised the right not to respond while the former Anzio councilor Giuseppe Ranucci had also responded to the prosecutors. In this line of investigation, coordinated by the prosecutors of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate who were already in charge of the maxi ‘Tritone’ investigation which led to the administration of the municipalities of Anzio and Nettuno, the accusation of mafia political electoral exchange is hypothesized.
