Live music and sport, theatrical performances, workshops and shows for children, tastings, crafts and DJ sets. All this and much more in the third edition of “South of the World”the great event that – over the course of an entire day – will enliven the Canneto Beach in Leporano, in the province of Taranto. All that remains is to mark the appointment in your diary: tomorrow, Thursday 25 April from 10 in the morning until late in the evening. The common thread is uniting cultures that arise from the South, understood as a place of ferment and individual and collective identities.
Culture and entertainment are the combination of the initiative, designed for a varied audience. Unmissable is “The World of Oz”, the theater show of objects and puppets by the Compagnia Teste di Legno, the circus comedy show by Michele Diana and the Christian Lisco cabaret circus. Still staying on topic, Stefano Zizzi of Teatrominimo will tell the story of the theaters in Taranto in the 20th century, while Giuse Alemanno will propose a reading with fragments of masterpieces joined together for fun.
The association I Cavalieri de li Terre Tarentine will guide the participants in a laboratory of historical combats and minting of historical coins; Gaia Favero of “Grafite” and Gabriele Benefico, instead, in a comics workshop for children.
The more sporty will be able to try their hand at pilates, yoga and hatha yoga, with the pancafit group, dynamic flow and boxing. There is also space for karate performances and, for the little ones, a miniclub with qualified instructors. Also for children, workshop activities organized by the Jonian Dolphin Conservation, a dance and play with nature workshop organized by Mawi Tagliente Pachamama, archeology workshops for children, ArKeogiochi and Vivi la storia, with the Polisviluppo cooperative. Finally, a laboratory for the microscopic observation of sand by the Ethra cooperative and another dedicated to education in nature with Ammenoché.
For enthusiasts, a beer production laboratory will be organized by Birra Pugliese and the Pacinotti Institute. Art is also the protagonist: from the painting workshop to the photography workshop, and then the ceramics and goldsmith workshop. Other workshops concern publishing and writing with the publisher Domenico Sellitti and radio teaching dedicated to students and radio on the web. There will also be a space entirely dedicated to RadioVera which will host numerous associations and entities involved in the area.
And then the 70s, 80s and 90s revival DJ set with Ciro Merode, Attilio Capilli, Gianfranco Derasmo, Alessandro Pisconti, that of Giorgio Vinciguerra and Tonio Amendola, the live jam session by RadioVera & Dis-Education for music beyond the barriers. And then from 7pm to 11pm the unmissable electro, house and techno DJ set with special guest Anya Rei. Finally, the dance show with fire, fakirism and fire-breathing with Luca Fakiro and Nina.
An entire exhibition area will be dedicated to craftsmanship: from jewels to Sicilian ceramics from Caltagirone, through leather work, wood, prints, works with materials returned from the sea and other surprises. Lovers of oriental disciplines will be able to try holistic massages, reflexology treatments and meet the spirit guide. It will also be possible to attend a sea rescue simulation with your four-legged friends.
