HC Cassa Rurale Pontinia closes the regular season on a high note and scores their last success at the expense of Teramo. With this victory, the fifteenth out of twenty matches this season, the Pontine team finishes in third place in the women’s A1 series handball championship standings. The victory over Teramo brings Pontinia to 31 points, one more than Bressanone and one less than Erice, second with 32. Even though Teramo was already safe, the match for Pontinia, forced to win to overtake Bressanone in the standings, was very close.
After a first half played in fits and starts, with the home team ahead and Teramo doing well at mending the score: the first half ended 17-14. Upon returning to the pitch, Teramo responded with a three-goal run that earned the score 20-19 at the start of the second half, then Pontinia extended it to 24-21 and in the final, with three consecutive goals from Colloredo, the outburst that extinguished the ambitions of the opponents until 31-27 prelude to 33-30 which closed the match.
