Perugia, the 5 Star Movement presents its list

32 candidates of civic extraction for a list that includes the different social categories and most of the municipal territories

PERUGIA, 24 April 2024 – Young people and pensioners, workers and entrepreneurs, teachers, architects, lawyers and employees of various public bodies.

A varied list of 32 people of civic extraction which testifies to the transversal identity of a political force present and consistent in the local panorama which, as stated by Antonio Donato, former representative of the territorial group of Perugia, has strongly supported Vittoria Ferdinandi’s candidacy for these municipal elections.

Presenting the names, but also the values behind the project, yesterday in the Sala della Vaccara in Perugia were the regional coordinator Thomas De Luca, Francesca Tizi, municipal councilor at Palazzo dei Priori and Antonio Donato.

At the center of the project are the ideas and values of the 5 Star Movement: sustainability, the environment, public goods, citizen participation in administrative decisions. «Values that have been expressed in the political programs for the municipal elections since 2014 and which today will find space in the program that will represent the coalition led by Vittoria Ferdinandi» as was said during the press conference.

«It has been stated several times that the PD and M5S political forces in Perugia have taken a step back to make room for a civic candidacy – it was explained –: Francesca Tizi, outgoing councilor and leader of the M5S list in the next elections, had initially proposed the his own candidacy, which was then postponed to support a broader coalition project.

In truth, that of Perugia, and other Umbrian contexts, is a step forward for the political forces because they are trying out a laboratory of dialogue for future regional elections in which the alliance will be fundamental to remove an immobilist right that is eroding the service public in many sectors.”
