Soft skills for the world of work, the first edition of the course in Terni was a success

TERNI – The human skills that are indispensable today in the world of work. It is the focus of the first edition of the “Soft Skills” course. The final ceremony with the delivery of certificates of attendance to the students of the University of Perugia took place on 23 April in the Terni headquarters of the faculty of economics. Teacher Matteo Rizzo: «The course was born out of the desire to bridge the gap that is created between universities and the world of work».

«Listening to our needs when we were students – continues Rizzo – but also talking to large companies. We wanted to give kids soft skills, preparing them for the world of work. Soft skills are soft skills.”
In the same vein is the explanation of Savino Tupputi, another university professor: «A course to provide children with those human and transversal skills that are fundamental in every type of profession they want to do in the future».

The course alternated between theory and practice for a total of 42 hours, 6 credits and was dedicated to Soft Skills. In the afternoon, recognition plaques for their contribution to the project were presented to the representatives of the companies that attended.
The companies present were: Energy Solution srl, Ferro Umbria srl, Asciutti srl Trasporti & Logistica, Maestrale Group srl, Banderari, Sammi srl, WDE Maspell srl, Deloitte Italy SpA, Interamna srl, Forti srl. Also present were the professors: Stefano Brancorsini – Director of the Terni Scientific Educational Centre; Francesco Bartolucci – Deputy Director of the Economics Department; Alessandro Montrone – President of the Council Degree in Business Economics and Master’s Degree in Economics and Management of Sustainable Development; Cristina Montesi – Teaching Coordinator, Professor of the Department of Economics.

Andrea Di Gennaro, a student who took part in the course, said he was enthusiastic about the first edition, hoping for a new edition: «Definitely a positive experience. it is important to know how to communicate with people, with companies, in an effective way, to know how to manage and organize one’s objectives. A course that allows you to give professional but also personal cuts. I would absolutely recommend it to my friends or to anyone who wants to implement their knowledge and skills.”
