The CUPRA ICAR PADEL 4 project was presented this afternoon (Tuesday 23 April) at the CUPRA ICAR GARAGE in Borgo Piave. The idea of Stefano Pedrizzi, general secretary of Città Sport Cultura Aps, is to create the first community of both territorial and non-territorial padel. Latina is the province with the highest density of padel fields compared to its number of inhabitants and the third in Italy after Rome and Milan for total numbers of fields.
There are dozens of clubs, thousands of people who live and frequent them and who, for some time now, have driven part of the economy of our territory and our community. More companies today compete on the same market. The Città Sport Cultura APS association takes the field together with Cupra, the Icar dealership and all its partners, through the CUPRA ICAR PADEL 4 project with the aim of involving the most important players in padel in the area and raising awareness, connecting, supporting but above all to encourage the dissemination of competitive means, techniques and behaviours.
THE COMMUNITY
Passion unites, especially in sport. Sharing common interests with people from all over Italy or the province is particularly easy thanks to the internet. CUPRA ICAR PADEL FOUR is a community, not a WhatsApp group. And it’s made up of people. It is the transversal tool that unites local clubs, teachers and padel players who, although in everyday life they can be very different from each other, have only one thought when they have the racket in their hand: enjoying the game and having fun. Its creation is based on the need to pursue an objective, dictated by the passion for padel, causes and experiences full of meaning for its participants, to be experienced both in person and online. From a simple match to organized tournaments, from an information network to practical newsletters, the community offers all clubs and padel players a safe, simple to use and private space in which to contribute, bring together different groups and discover of new ones.
The tournament
The other soul of the CUPRA ICAR PADEL 4 project is certainly the padel tournament which acts as a meeting point for the different realities that will participate. An idea with which Città Sport Cultura, CUPRA Icar and its protagonists, every second Sunday of the month, have chosen to promote aggregation inside and outside the individual structures, as well as on the web. And after the Sunday matches, which will be played with a spectacular inclusive and very social relay formula borrowed from the famous Black Jack Padel tournament – 21 Games, all the “players” will be involved in a convivial moment, the awards lunch, a sort of third time between the tables of the Amo restaurant on Lido di Latina and the Kufra Oasis in Sabaudia. There will be important moments dedicated to training, with sector experts who will talk about marketing of services, principles of professional correctness and loyalty of competition, team building, fiscal and labor law aspects of the sports sector, the reform of sport, the correct management of accounting a sports club and effective communication. To involve padel fans, which will not be limited only to the tournament matches, a village will be set up around the host club to serve the partner brands.
THE PROTAGONISTS
Doing the honors during today’s press conference (Tuesday 23 April) was the secretary of Città Sport Cultura Aps and deus ex machina of the projectStefano Pedrizzi: “I thank the splendid audience who wanted to participate in today’s presentation and I bring greetings from my father Riccardo, president of CSC who was unable to participate today. The objective is to promote and support the large community present in our province, made up of women and men, fathers and mothers, children and grandparents united by a single passion. The name Padel 4 because there are 4 themes covered by the project: sharing, comparison, competition and conviviality. A new way of experiencing society and the padel clubs which in this exciting project are the protagonists both on the pitch and in the community”.
Also guests of the event were two representatives of the Latina administration, the mayor Matilde Celentano and the sports councilor of the municipality of Latina, Andrea Chiarato: “This is much more than a simple padel tournament – said Mayor Celentano – It is an all-round, inclusive event, aimed at moving the city. This administration has always had the issues and values of sport at heart: it is initiatives like Padel 4 that can do nothing but good for the community. I am pleased to be a guest of a structure like Cupra Icar, a splendid reality that I have already visited and which proves to be close to issues that are very close to our hearts”.
Councilor Chiarato echoed him: “This is a city that loves sport and padel even more. The evolution of structures and practitioners in recent years has reached levels that are unique in Italy. Initiatives of this type must be accompanied by the municipal administration so that they become a source of pride for the city of Latina and the Sports department. Without forgetting the virtuous example that all participating clubs represent, which are private individuals and all of the highest level: I too, in my own small way, will try to support the initiative to the best of my ability.”
Landlady Barbara Donati, CEO of ICAR Spa: “We are proud to host events of this kind. Sports and non-sports businesses come together to build virtuous social relationships: we didn’t think twice about being present and giving our support. We hope to be able to continue these initiatives, as Cupra we will attend all stages of the tournament, in line with the basic idea of our brand which tends to attract young people with enthusiasm, innovation and the values of sport”.
Important parterre, enriched by the intervention of Dr. Maximilian Brocchi – Professor of the University of Foro Italico, FITP teacher, Vice President of the FITP Regional Committee: “Enthusiastic about this project, aimed at developing sport but also a sort of community for training and updating. I have given my willingness to put my skills in the sector into a platform from which subjects can draw. The sport reform has radically changed the organization of sports clubs, setting rigid boundaries that are important to know at a training level. I will be there for this and much more. I have a lot of enthusiasm: seeing private individuals invest in initiatives of this magnitude and the municipal administration together with them makes me understand that the path is the right one. I am happy to be part of this community.”
The contribution of the Dr. Lorenzo Pellegrini, CEO of TOYOU and responsible for the management community, who explained to the audience the functioning of the platform which will be on WhatsApp: “Stefano Pedrizzi’s enthusiasm and the quality of the project did not make me hesitate. How ToYou wanted to immediately marry the Cupra Icar Padel 4 to give Latina the first virtual community dedicated to padel. It won’t be the usual group, but we will use a tool that many ignore but with which you can get a lot of information without being invasive.”
THE PARTNERS

THE FIRST STAGE AND THE CIRCLES
The first stage of the tournament will take place on Sunday 12 May at the Premier Sporting Club – We Padel in via Pontina, Latina. The first 4 clubs that are part of the Cupra Icar Padel 4 will be guests: the hosts of We Padel, the Bola of Rome, the Vibora of Terracina and the Gr Padel of Terracina. The other clubs involved are Arma Padel of Latina, La Bombonera Cori, Conti Sport City of Anzio, the Gisa Padel of Cisterna, the Globo of Pomezia, the Kirkos of Sabaudia, the Latina Padel Club, the Padel Lovers team and the team of Swap Padel.
