Tav, Verona hub: RFI prepares the start of construction sites

The interventions

The interventions constitute a first phase of the overall reorganization project of the Verona railway hub. They will make it possible to reduce interference between the different traffic flows, making circulation more fluid and increasing the capacity of the infrastructure, with benefits on the regularity and punctuality of both long-distance and regional services, as well as greater efficiency and consistency of transport goods. There new freight line will then allow the Verona hub to be partially freed from flows to and from the Brenner line and will strengthen connections with the intermodal port of Verona Quadrante Europa.

The work, which includes a total investment of approximately 441 million euroshas as its client Italian Railway Network, the lead company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group, while the engineering company Italferr was assigned the direction of the works. The works were awarded to the group of companies Impresa Pizzarotti & C., Saipem and Salcef.
