The Office, Dwight’s actor victim of the jelly prank in a hotel in Florence

Rainn Wilson was staying at the Lucchesi hotel in the Tuscan capital when, after ordering room service, he found himself faced with a scene similar to the one he had already experienced on set, while playing the role of one of the most beloved characters of the American sitcom. The actor joked about the story in a post on Instagram

More than ten years have passed since the last episode of The Office, the very famous sitcom that tells the story of the vicissitudes of the employees of a company that produces paper in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Yet, the The Office mania seems not to have passed. Rainn Wilson, the interpreter of Dwight in the American version, was the victim of a prank by the staff of the Lucchesi hotel in Florence, where he was staying. The same prank that Jim, played by John Krasinski, had planned in one of the episodes of the TV show. But if Jim had put Dwight’s stapler in the jelly, in this case the hotel chef put the cutlery there when Wilson ordered room service.

Rainn Wilson’s post

“This is what happened when I ordered room service at my hotel in Florence,” reads the description of Rainn Wilson’s post on her Instagram profile. The phrase accompanies the photo of a table set with a plate of pasta and two of vegetables, some bread, some glasses, water, condiments and then another plate, without food, with a fork and a knife “stuck” inside of dark orange gelatin. The actor thus joked about the story, tagging the account of the hotel that hosted him and which commented on the post hoping that Wilson appreciated the stay “… and also the room service!”.

The person responsible for the prank

Among the comments also stands out that of Kacie Rose, a TikToker with more than a million followers: “My boyfriend, chef at the Lucchesi hotel, is partly responsible, given that I made him do a marathon of The Office as soon as we started dating, because it’s my favorite TV show. I’m glad you laughed about it and I hope you enjoyed Florence.”

In The Office, Dwight is constantly the favorite victim of his colleague Jim’s pranks, whose accomplice is often Pam. The jelly one is certainly one of the most famous “pranks”, the first that intern Ryan witnesses when he arrives at the office.
