Despite this, homosexuality still remains criminalized and punished with the death penalty or life imprisonment in seventy-two countries; Homosexual and trans people continue to be the subject of crimes, violence and discrimination in employment and education systems.
The “Transparent” Association, in collaboration with the Arci club of Trani “(H)astarci”, the Arcigay BAT, the Indie Club and Prisma associations, with the economic contribution of the municipality of Trani, bring “Queer” to the city of Trani è ora”, a photographic exhibition born from artistic and social research that tells the stories and experiences of fifteen people and groups belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community within the Anti-Discrimination Centers of Genoa, Foggia, Bari and Taranto.
The exhibition will be inaugurated at 6.30 pm inside the “Giovanni Bovio” municipal library in the “Sala Ronchi”. It will include the opening with institutional greetings from the Mayor of the city of Trani, Amedeo Bottaro and the City Councillor, Luca Morollo and followed by a discussion on the topic in which the following will participate: Francesca Sorge, civil rights representative of the (H)astarci club of Trani, Prof. Gianfranco Petruzzella, Arcigay Bat, Alessia Rollo, photographer and visual artist and Gaia Barletta, cultural worker and queer activist.
At the end of the inauguration, the evening will continue with an informal moment at “Teca Bevuta Naturale” with a DJ set and live performances by the band “Viaggi Andromeda”, during which safe sex will be promoted with the free distribution of condoms.
