The mayor of Agrigento, Franco Miccichè, spoke in the city council, accepting the invitation to report on the recent and well-known judicial events. In summary Miccichè stated: “In reference to the appointment of Gaetano Di Giovanni at the top of the administrative machine, perhaps I made a mistake, but for the love of my city. My intention was to speed up the carrying out of bureaucratic activities, in the face of staff shortages. And Di Giovanni was known for his ability to do so. If then outside Agrigento and the province he did other things, we are not interested. In reference to the purchase of the SUVs, Di Giovanni was appointed two days earlier. And in any case we are in litigation with the ministry to defend our initiative. On the choice of Paolo Di Loreto as consultant for the general master plan, he is one of the most renowned urban planners in Italy. He was part of the regional scientific technical committee and legislated on behalf of the Regional Assembly. We chose him based on his CV.”

Ruoppolo’s lookalike, Angelo Joppolo, alias Alessandro Pappacoda, was the protagonist of the successful and popular column “Camera Zhen”, broadcast on Teleacras, and of the Christmas film “Scratch and Run”, with a very crowded “premiere” at the Cine Astor of Agrigento.
