An appeal to CONI Guarantee Boardby the Tarantocould postpone the playoffs of Serie C at least a week for the very first shifts.
This is what can be seen from the press release issued by Taranto itself, which we report as follows:“The company Taranto Football Club 1927 srl announces that it will appeal the sentence with which the penalty of four points in the standings was inflicted. The decision of the Federal Court, which was also taken at the decisive moment of the championship, has modified and overturned the orientation expressed on the matter in the last decade by the sports justice bodies, therefore, it seems inevitable to resort to the CONI Guarantee Board for it to be definitively clarified. the very delicate question. Naturally, pending the final ruling, the suspension of the playoff matches in which we will be involved will be requested“.
The facts underlying the above appeal are quickly highlighted: Taranto was penalized in the standings by 4 points (in Group C of Serie C) for violations of an administrative nature. To date, the club’s appeals have been rejected at first and second instance, and therefore even in the Federal Court of Appeal. There remained the possibility of an appeal to the CONI Guarantee Board: Taranto chose to pursue the latter path, with the consequence of the possible postponement of the playoffs of all three Serie C groups.
