Vicenza, 23 April 2024 – He returned to the construction site where he worked, he took a pneumatic drill and started to destroy a wall which he had created himself in recent days. Was surprised by the Vicenza police while he was engaged in demolition work 26 year old worker of Egyptian origin who decided to to protest in this way against the owner of the yard because he had not been paid.
Police intervention
The agents have stopped the worker and identified him as an Egyptian citizen with a regular residence permit. The 26-year-old worker then reported that he had carried out work on the construction site but not having been paid by the owner, despite repeated reminders. For this reason, after yet another denial, he had decided to demolish the work which he himself had previously created. In the meantime, a colleague of the worker arrived at the construction site he tried to calm him down, explaining to him how he only had to wait a few more days for payment, as he had been told by the owner. The parties eventually told the police that they did not intend to take legal action at the moment, waiting for the situation to settle.
