Princi, 241 million plan for education, university and culture

‘Great teamwork of historic significance for the Region’

The resources of the Plan presented by the Region to support education, training, universities and culture amount to 241 million euros.

This was illustrated during a press conference by the vice president of the Region with responsibility for the branch Giusi Princi flanked by the managers of the various sectors involved.

“Culture is finally central to the development of the region – declared Vice President Giusi Princi – in the context of a Region that has a vision and sets clear objectives.

For the first time, we wanted to make known, through this important plan, the strategic actions that, between now and the next few years, will affect the education, training, university and culture sectors. A plan that ‘comes from the bottom’ reflecting the needs of the interested categories with which I have always dealt. A synergistic work that involved the education and unitary planning departments and which made it possible to program 250 million euros, within the scope of Pr 23/27, the Poc, the FSC, making the administrative action and the results that we aim to achieve in coherence with the political directions of the department represented by me”.

“It was a great team effort – said Vice President Princi – of historic importance for our region. I thank the general manager and all the sector managers of both departments with whom there is daily dialogue and collaboration. I like to recognize the merit of a regional administrative class that works with competence and professionalism while remaining in the shadows. I thank President Occhiuto and the entire council for allowing culture, through an allocation never recorded before, to become central to the development of the region”.

The overall budget planned for the education and training sectors is 172 million euros divided into various project interventions.

As regards the Regional Culture Plan under the Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC) and the Complementary Operational Program (POC) of the Calabria Region 2021-2027, the total resources are €69 million divided into the support of theatres, libraries, literary parks , exhibitions and cultural activities and events.
