On the eve of territorial selection of Italian IT Championships (ex-Olympics)which will take place simultaneously in Italian schools April 23, 2024around 2000 students across Italy are training for the race.

For the schools of Northern Puglia, i.e. for the provinces of Bari (North), BAT (Barletta-Andria-Trani) and Foggia, this year too theFerraris Institute of Molfetta was confirmed as territorial headquarters byAICAthe body that organizes the event, together with Ministry of Education and Merit.

To facilitate the participation of 32 athletes resident in the province of Foggia, a separate office has been appointed at thePascal Institute of Foggiawhose participants will be included in the ranking of the local headquarters of Ferraris in Molfetta, where there will be 36 other athletes competing.

All the competitors earned admission to the territorial competition after passing a previous school selection, carried out on 14 December 2023 in Italian schools, out of an initial total of 12,078 participants in the event, who faced questions of logic and programming and continued their education and training journey.

In the new competition, they are asked to solve more complex problems by writing programs in a language of their choice; it will take talent, preparation and even a pinch of luck, which never hurts, to earn admission to the national final, but beyond the mere competition and the results achieved, the participants will share the common objectives of improving themselves and having fun.

For decades the scientific Olympics have allowed numerous talents to be discovered and valorised and this year too, the Ferraris Institute of Molfetta stands out in the care of its excellence: in fact it will have 9 students competing, 5 of whom attend the OSA “Levi Montalcini” high school and 4 the “Informatics and telecommunications” branch of the ITT “Ferraris”.

Happy to share the purpose and value of the event, also in terms of discussion and relationships between students and teachers from different schools, the two Directors, the prof. Luigi Melpignano and the prof.^ssa Giuliarosa Trimboli, of the IISS Ferraris of Molfetta and the ITES Pascal of Foggia respectively, are ready to welcome all participants to their institutes.
