This is the story of a boy from Modena named Alessandro, 28 years old, who recently decided to move in with his girlfriend. So, after finding the apartment, the two went to the Hera counter in via Razzaboni to ask for a contract for the new house. To their great surprise, however, they discover that they cannot do so: the code “ko” has appeared on their potential user “profiles”. «It’s an inexplicable story – Alessandro’s father intervenes – my son previously already had a contract in his name with Hera, which he then canceled when he decided to move in with his partner. Both work and neither has any kind of problem. Hera replied that the free market now exists and that no explanations are given for this phantom “ko”. We asked what that code was for and they replied that they couldn’t reveal it to us “for privacy reasons” and that they would send us a letter. I wonder what privacy there is in front of those directly involved. The letter? It arrived, but it contained explanations. We find ourselves in a very annoying limbo in which we don’t know how to move just because an “algorithm” says that my son cannot enter into a contract.”
This is Hera’s response, which we report in its entirety: «Regarding the report received by the editorial staff of the Gazzetta di Modena and relating to the failure to activate an electricity contract, Hera Comm, a Hera Group company which deals with the marketing of gas and electricity, specifies that the transfer request was not accepted as the requirements established by its credit policy for the free market were not respected: this defines, in fact, a series of parameters on the basis of which the possibility of accepting or minus a supply request. In any case – conclude from Hera – the party interested in the supply can always turn to other suppliers on the market, who may be available to ensure the requested service”. L
