The proceeds will be used to purchase a minibus for children with hardships and disabilities
The appointment is for Sunday 20 October for the first edition of the Rotary Run Italia, a recreational motor event with two routes, one of 10 km at a free pace and a walk of approximately 3 km.
The event, desired by the presidents of the Rotary Clubs of the Medici area and not only of the 2071 Tuscany District, has the technical organizational support of the sports association Gs Il Fiorino. The routes are being defined, the meeting will be in Piazza del Carmine at 7 with departure (at 9.30 for the 10 km and at 9.40 for the 3 km walk) and arrival always in Piazza del Carmine.
The time limit for the race is 100 minutes for the 10 km and 60 minutes for the 3 km. The entire proceeds of the event will be donated for the purchase of a 9-seater minibus in favor of the ‘Il Ritrovo’ sports association which allows young people with discomfort and disabilities to play football.
The initiative is fun and non-competitive and participation is open to anyone (there are no rankings, tokens or prizes). Chronometric recording of the time taken for participants in the 10 km route is foreseen. The timing is by Evodata. The timing will be measured with the MyLaps-Bibtag system which each participant will receive already applied to their identification bib. The chip is disposable and therefore should not be returned. The times of all participants will be communicated and published online in a list in alphabetical order as per current legislation.
It is necessary to register online by completing the registration form in full with payment in one of the forms allowed by the platform. Participants undertake to respect the regulation and all current legislation including but not limited to the current highway code.
Given the social and non-competitive nature of the recreational and motor event, the only prizes provided are for the 5 largest teams or groups or associations as well as prizes for members of Rotary and law enforcement.
Interested parties will be able to register from 1 September 2024 to 18 October 2024. Registration can be carried out exclusively using the methods set out in the previous point. For logistical-organizational reasons, the organizing committee reserves the right to close registrations early or to accept registrations after the closing date at its sole discretion. If there are any bib numbers left over, the last registrations will be allowed only on the morning of the race, Sunday 20 October, up to 30 minutes before the start.
A minor can only be registered by a parent/guardian who must complete the relevant form, respecting these regulations and according to the methods indicated above, assuming all responsibility.
Registration and the official event t-shirt with bag (while supplies last) can be obtained by making a donation of at least ten euros, by registering online at www.rotaryrunitalia.it. Failure to participate and/or failure to collect the shirt, bib and bag will not be refundable and will not be sent to your home.
It will be possible to collect your bib directly in Piazza del Carmine on Sunday 20 October from 7 to 9.15. On the morning of October 20th, it will be possible for those registered for the event to take advantage of a free screening (being defined) for the protection and safeguarding of health.
