The Salerno match is certainly not like the pink apostrophe between the words “ti” and “amo”, a phrase often inflated in love notes, rather a parenthesis between the two battles against Viktoria Plzen and Atalanta. Because Fiorentina, which is preparing to go and play in Salerno tomorrow at 6pm, will do so after only one real training session, today’s, and with many situations to monitor.
The situation sucks
The great attention at Viola Park is Jack Bonaventura, absent from the match against Viktoria Plzen due to the ankle problem that worsened after the match against Genoa and for which a race against time began to get him back in view of Bergamo, where the his experience and quality will be fundamental. It is likely that Jack will directly skip the Salerno trip to stay in Florence and recover as best he can, there should already be news in this sense today. Also worth evaluating are Beltran and Belotti, both of whom emerged a little battered from Thursday’s match and almost certainly rested at the Arechi. The same for many others who have been carrying ailments for several weeks, from defenders Milenkovic and Ranieri to Arthur and Nico.
Who hopes to play
For this reason, several players hope to have the chance to get some minutes under their belt in Salerno. Above all, the young man Pietro Comuzzo, born in 2005, promoted after Mina’s farewell but practically never seen on the pitch. As he also hopes Gino Infantino, perhaps even more mysterious object of the season after the summer purchase from the Rosario. For the Argentine so far this season he has played just under 200 minutes on the pitch with zero appearances as a starter: who knows, maybe the first one might come against the bottom of the table. The other player who wants to apply for more space in Salerno is Maxime Lopeza decidedly different situation compared to the other two but eager to deserve a reconfirmation at the end of the season: in recent weeks he has given comforting signals to Italiano and his staff, a starting shirt against Salernitana could be a good viaticum to hope for more space with Atalanta and more generally in this season finale, after which the midfielder will most likely return to Reggio Emilia.
