“After the damage now comes the insult, that of having the swimming pool completed, but not being able to see it immediately usable as the citizens expected and of seeing a beautiful piece of our community’s history go up in smoke.” This is what Marcello Grilanda, Uniti councilor for Portomaggiore, claims in a question on behalf of the entire group regarding the construction site of the municipal swimming pool, close to the finish line after almost five years of almost endless construction. The Bernardi administration is in fact working to identify economic operators for the management of the sports center through a public-private partnership. According to Marcello Grilanda “the council aimed straight at the hypothesis of a public-private partnership, as a mere political choice not supported by assessments of convenience nor by assessments regarding the timing necessary to finally see the swimming facility open to the public, despite having had good five years to evaluate whether critical issues existed in the sports centre, including those relating to the renovation project itself, and to implement initiatives aimed at eliminating the highlighted critical issues”. Grilanda asks: “Why were these assessments not made in previous years? What are the expected times for carrying out these further works? And if the times are not affected, haven’t you considered that the conditions of access to the swimming pool will be limited? “.
