In Abruzzo, from partly cloudy or partly cloudy skies, there will be a gradual worsening with precipitation that will also move from the inland areas to the coastal side during the day.
On our peninsula the pressure is decreasing due to the descent of a pulse of cold air coming from central-northern Europe which, starting from the next few hours, will extend
towards our central-northern regions favoring a moderate worsening of atmospheric conditions with showers, thunderstorms and snowfall on the Apennine mountains. In particular, the bad weather will also affect our central regions, starting from the internal areas of Marche and Abruzzo, extending by the afternoon-evening towards the Adriatic sector and towards Molise, with widespread, locally intense showers: heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out intensity on the hilly and coastal areas of our region between tonight-night and the early hours of Sunday morning, however from late morning a gradual improvement in atmospheric conditions is expected starting from the Marche, extending towards our region and towards Molise by in the afternoon, although accumulations and afternoon showers cannot be ruled out in inland and mountainous areas. Subsequently, based on current data, a new disturbance seems destined to affect our peninsula starting from Monday, starting from the northern regions, however between Tuesday and Wednesday the worsening will extend again towards the remaining regions
central-southern.
FORECAST: In our region, initial conditions of partly cloudy or partially cloudy skies are expected with increasing cloud cover during the morning, starting from L’Aquila and Teramo, with possible scattered light precipitations, occasionally extending towards the Adriatic sector by late morning. Furthermore, from late morning, cloud cover will tend to intensify in the Marsica, in the L’Aquila area, in the Alto Sangro and in the mountainous areas with intensifying precipitation, including thunderstorms, snow on the mountains above 1000-1300 metres. From the afternoon the worsening will progressively extend towards the Teramo area, the Pescarese area and the Chieti area, with rainfall that may even be of moderate intensity, even of a thunderstorm nature. In the evening-night and in the early hours of Sunday morning, heavy rainfall will be possible along the coastal and hilly area, including thunderstorms, while new snowfall will affect the mountainous areas above 900-1000 meters but with possible snow showers decreasing around at 700-900 meters. A gradual improvement in atmospheric conditions is expected from late morning starting from the Teramo area, extending towards the remaining areas by the afternoon and late afternoon. Temperatures: Further decreasing between tonight and Sunday. Winds: Weak from the eastern or south-eastern quadrants in the morning. From tonight to night they will tend to come from the north-eastern quadrants, strengthening: possible strong gusts along the coastal areas. Sea: Slightly rough in the morning with increasing swell during the day. A marked increase in swell is expected from tonight to night
with possible storm surges, be careful.
