Cna Prato-Pistoia, gap between training and business needs – SMEs

There is a strong gap between the employment needs of companies and adequate training of specialized figures to be included in the company: this is what emerges from the 3rd Mismatch Report 2024 for the provinces of Prato and Pistoia created by Cna Toscana centro. The youth unemployment rate exceeds 20% in Prato and 15% in Pistoia: among the causes, according to Cna, the lack of specific and updated skills required by manufacturing companies, but also the lack of knowledge of the labor market and of the employment opportunities professional training and updating.

Over 50% of the students interviewed rate the prospect of starting a business as interesting, while on the business front the problem of generational transition is considered “a difficult but surmountable obstacle”. Cna Toscana Centro calls for actions to encourage new entrepreneurship, an approach to immigration capable of supporting the need for a workforce, strengthening ITS and IeFp.
