Sexual violence and abusive healthcare services: a Pontine physiotherapist is arrested. The gym used as a studio was also seized
Following a judicial police investigation, carried out on behalf of the Latina Public Prosecutor’s Office, i Financiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Latinatoday, April 19, they executed an order for the application of the precautionary measure of the House arrestwith the simultaneous application of the electronic bracelet, issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Latina, Giuseppe Cario, towards a thirty-year-old from Fondi seriously suspected of having committed acts of sexual violence against several women, including a minor, and of illegally practicing the profession of physiotherapist. The man, moreover, is known for being the personal trainer of many VIPs in Rome and other centers.
The investigations, conducted by the Compagnia di Fondi, led by Captain Diego Lauretti, were carried out over 12 months – from 2023 to today – also through technical investigations, acquisition of declarations and documentary examinations, and made it possible to reconstruct elements of evidence in order to the commission of multiple acts of violence by the subject against women clients of the “studio” managed by the aforementioned.
The violent conduct, according to the Financiers, the former assistant prosecutor of Latina Carlo Lasperanza and the deputy Marco Giancristofaro who coordinated the investigations, would have occurred, on several occasions, during the administration of alleged “physiotherapy, cryotherapy and pressotherapy” treatments, without consent and by leveraging women’s psychological and physical fragilities and stealing their trust.
The order issued also provides for the preventive seizure of the “Amateur Sports Association”used as a gym, which is located in Fondi, as a formal legal entity in whose capacity the professional activity was carried out, was carried out without the required qualificationsfrom the required qualification and the necessary registration in the registeras well as gods premises, equipment and systems present and used.
The victims of the false physiotherapist’s behavior are eight, of which four of them are recipients of the most morbid behavior of the false physiotherapist who would have attracted the same victims to him, explaining to them what poses to take during the visits that took place inside the rooms that were found in the gym. The women were let in and, under the guise of fake physiotherapy, groped and molested. At first, none of them reported the sexual predator, then, with the help of a technical consultant appointed by the Prosecutor’s Officethe victims took courage and some of them formally denounced the man’s behavior.
The activity, launched as part of the fight against illegal professional practices and related forms of tax evasion, – explains a note from the Guardia di Finanza – testifies to the highly transversal and investigative connotation of the Fiamme Gialle, always on the front line to protect all forms of abuse and violence towards citizens and the community.
Conducted in full synergy with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Latina, the investigation – continues the note – has demonstrated, once again, how indispensable it is, as an impetus for the repression of any form of mistreatment, harassment or violence against women, courage of them not to remain silent and the strength and trust to rely on and turn to the Police Forces, asking them for help and support.
