Descriptive text here

The weekend, traditionally dedicated to rest, is now upon us. If you haven’t made plans yet, here is a selection of events scheduled in Monza and the province for Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2024.

What to do at the weekend in Brianza: the events of Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2024

Let’s start as always with the appointments in Monza. It’s scheduled for Saturday 20 April, from 9am to 1pmthe 2024 edition of Spring cleaningthe day of civic commitment dedicated to the city, which involves thousands of people – all volunteers – in an event under the banner of “to take care of” of the city.

Arrived at 9th edition, the event involves entire families, groups, schools, associations and friends involved in the various “construction sites” scattered around the city. I am 57 construction sites scheduled for this edition, an increase compared to last year, to which are added 73 in schools for a total of 130.

Also in the city we point out the possibility of visiting, at Orangery (Palace of Monza) and Civic Museums, the exhibition “800Lombardo – Rebellion and conformism from Hayez to Previati”.

It is an exhibition that offers a journey into painting and, more generally, into the culture of 19th century Lombardy, through almost one hundred works, including paintings and drawings by the main protagonists of 19th century Lombardy: from Hayez to Piccio, from Faruffini to Cremona, from Medardo Rosso to Previati and Segantini.

The exhibition itinerary, organized by thematic areas, analyzes both the movements and iconographic trends, as well as the biography and personality of the individual artists, offering the visitor the opportunity to discover a dynamic and surprising universe, artistically and intellectually very refined and experimental, and to investigate the society of the time following a narrative thread that aims to shed light on a theme that is not always so well known, such as the Lombard artistic scene of the nineteenth century.

The exhibition, while focusing on the Milanese environment – in particular the teaching of the Brera Academy – also investigates the situation in the other Lombardy provinces. In the Exhibition Hall of the Civic Museums of Monza, a section dedicated to the artistic scene of the city of Monza will be set up, the birthplace of extraordinary painters such as Pompeo Mariani, Mosé Bianchi, Eugenio Spreafico and Emilio Borsa.
