Torino Jazz Festival, the 12th edition starts on April 20th: the program

The event, which will end on April 30, will take place in various locations throughout the city. This year looks like one of the richest ever, with large concerts on stages and in clubs, conferences, book presentations, film screenings, marching bands and much more.

The Torino Jazz Festival returns from 20 to 30 April for the twelfth edition, offering a rich and varied program that extends for 11 days with 104 events, of which 57 concerts (some of which have already sold out), 280 musicians and 73 locations affected across the city. The festival features a wide range of events including large concerts on stages and in clubs, lectures, book launches, film screenings, marching band performances and many other activities.

A tribute to Duke Ellington is planned

Three prominent names at the festival are Dave Holland, Christian McBride and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Additionally, a tribute to the music of Duke Ellington is planned to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. An exclusive of the festival is dedicated to John Zorn, who collaborates for the first time with Jazz is Dead! “We consider this collaboration between the two jazz festivals in Turin to be very important.”

On Liberation Day Fatoumata Diawara at the Teatro Regio

The concert on April 25th will feature Fatoumata Diawara at the Teatro Regio. The main program of the festival will not have a single location, but will be distributed throughout the territory. Among the other guests of this edition are Roscoe Mitchell, Paolo Fresu, Fatoumata Diawara, Mats Gustafsson, Steve Lehman, Marta Warelis, Sakina Abdou, Alexander Hawkins, Matthew Wright, Roberto Gatto, Francesco Bearzatti and many others.

The Torino Jazz Festival 2024, with the artistic direction of Stefano Zenni, is a project of the City of Turin created by the Turin Foundation for Culture with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the CRT Foundation, Main Partner Intesa Sanpaolo and Iren, with the contribution of ANCoS and Confartigianato Imprese Torino and in collaboration with Turismo Torino e Provincia.
