On Sunday at 6.15pm Reyer Venezia hosts Nutribullet Treviso in the match valid for the 28th round of LBA 2024. Today in the pre-match press conference the lagoon club allowed journalists to interview the gentle giant Mfiondo “FI” Kabengele, 210cm center , who wears the gold and gray jersey n°21 on the parquet.

Mfiondo Kabengele:

“I’m excited for the match that awaits us on Sunday. During the week, many fans stopped me and told me how important the derby is for this city. Therefore, we want to do well for our fans and for us. It will be an important match to improve ourselves and prepare well for the playoffs. The team’s objective is to create positive inertia for the end of the season. They are a good team but we want to use this match to relaunch ourselves in view of the final Seasonal.”

Will there be very hot weather at Taliercio on Sunday?

“On Sunday we should be good at containing our emotions and staying focused on our work. I’m sure the fans will support us but we should be good at dragging them along.”

How did you fit into this team. What is the atmosphere within the team?

“Since my arrival, the team and I have done a great job. The welcome was excellent both from the team and from the city. At the beginning I had some difficulties in integrating into the game system. But now things are much better and thanks to the trust that my teammates and staff convey to me, I have much more confidence. I am very happy and grateful to be here. I think it is one of the best European clubs in terms of structures, organisation, mentality and humanity I don’t think there are many clubs in Europe like Reyer.”

Tell us a little about the atmosphere of derbies in Greece?

“I liked them a lot because there is a lot of energy and passion from the fans. It was something different compared to previous derbies I had been through.”

What are the characteristics of Paulicap, the Nutribullet Treviso centre?

“He is very strong, I studied him this week with videos and he is certainly a player with a lot of energy and talent, but the thing that amazed me most is the hunger he brings to the field. He will bring the same hunger to the field Treviso because they need points to secure salvation. On Sunday I expect to find a very strong team and personally this will motivate me a lot because it will be a great match.”

Against Brescia the performance was better than against Bologna. But what was missing in these two games to bring home the victory?

“There was a lack of better connection between players. Both matches were prepared very well also with the work done during the week. In the crucial moments of the Brescia match the atmosphere was bedlam and we weren’t able to connect 100%. DI As a result, we lost rebounds, missed passes and shots. Brescia, on the other hand, took advantage of their great energy and chemistry and managed to play together. In key moments of the match, Brescia was more ready than us. But at this stage of the season, we are improving the management of these important factors within the match. I am sure that in the coming weeks we will make further steps forward to improve the chemistry in moments of maximum pressure within the match.”
