Massimo Baldinia photographer born in Ancona but Bolognese by adoption, is the author of a new way of seeing the Italian landscape, sampled through images in his first volume of Italia Revisited #1, characterized by irony and inconsistencies: the lampshade of a lamp winks at the dome by Brunelleschi, Michelangelo’s David guards an ATM, a Riace bronze guarantees a TripAdvisor report, the decorator of a pizzeria quotes Edvard Munch.

After having worked in publishing for a long time, Massimo Baldini he dedicated himself exclusively to photography. Claudio Marra, former full professor of History of Photography at the University of Bologna, through texts that constitute a point of reference in the sector (from The Ideas of Photography 2001 to Nello ombre di un dream, 2004, from L’image infedele, 2006, to Fotografia and painting in the twentieth century (and beyond), 2012, from Photography and visual arts, 2014 to What is photography, 2017) investigated from a historical perspective the relationships between photography and visual arts, as well as those with the specific sector of fashion, together to theoretical aspects linked to the identity of the medium and to the problems opened by the transition from the analogue to the digital system.
