“Carissimi350 – for Christmas in Tivoli”

The initiatives organized by Musicaimage continue with the Seicentonovecento Ensemble and the Cappella Musicale di S. Maria dell’Anima directed by Flavio Colusso for the 350th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Carissimi “father of the musical Oratorio and the chamber cantata”. After starting on 12 January, the events resumed on Thursday 18 April at 6pm, at the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare, where Carissimi lived for over forty years teaching in the adjoining German-Hungarian College.

Sunday 21 April at 10:00, at the Teutonic Church of S. Maria dell’Anima in Rome, the rare Missa “Non sine quare” by Johann is performed by the Musical Chapel of Santa Maria dell’Anima, in the context of the solemn liturgy of Dominica IV Paschae Caspar Kerll.

In the afternoon of the same Sunday 21 April “Carissimi350 – for Christmas in Tivoli” presents at the City Museum (6.15 pm), the conference concert The young Carissimi in Tivoli, with the Seicentonovecento Ensemble engaged in the performance of Carissimi motets intertwined with the conversation with Maurizio Pastori and Flavio Colusso and the reading of the essay “Sound Pictography” by Claudio Strinati.
