More Italian tourists than foreign ones. It is the photograph of tourist presences in the province of Trapani that comes out of the workshop “Tourists for what?”, promoted by the Trapani Welcome association.
Overall there were 820 thousand presences in the province: 507 thousand Italians and 312 thousand foreigners. The data refers to the stay in the various accommodation facilities and provided by the Statistics Office of the former Province. The locations with the highest number of tourists were San Vito, Trapani, Marsala, Castellammare, Castelvetrano and Favignana.
The transits, however, were 2 million 898 thousand and 730 tourists. The average presence stood at 3.5 days and, with reference to foreigners, the French were in first place, followed by the Germans and the Americans.
The work was introduced by Paolo Salerno of Trapani Welcome, while the other interventions were by Luigi Biondo, director of the Segesta archaeological park, Sara Schiaffonati, marketing director of the B&B Italia Group and Robert Piattelli, co-founder of Bto educational, while the director of the Agostino Pepoli Regional Museum, which hosted the event, Anna Maria Parrinello, and the president of the Lions, Tommaso Nasello, brought their institutional greetings. At the end of the works, the club service awarded the entrepreneur Gaspare Panfalone with the “Mulino d’argento Turismo 2024”.
