ROME (ITALPRESS) – The 2024 edition of the “Greentech Global Forum” was presented today in Rome, an annual event promoted by the Lazio Region with the organization of Lazio Innova, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, SIMEST (Italian company to support internationalisation), SACE (Italian Export Credit Agency), Agenzia Ita (Italian Trade Agency) and with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo.
The event was attended by Francesco Rocca, president of the Lazio Region; Roberta Angelilli, vice-president of the Lazio Region and councilor for Economic Development, Commerce, Crafts, Industry and Internationalisation; Marco Rago, legal advisor to the Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Development (MAECI); Francesco Marcolini, president of Lazio Innova; Angelo Camilli, president of Unindustria; Francesca Alicata, SIMEST external relations manager.
The appointment is for next 16 and 17 September at the Gazometro Ostiense Complex in Rome, during the Rome Future Week, with an agenda full of meetings between institutional tables, promotional workshops and networking sessions, to offer international actors the opportunity to present and share solutions and projects to be explored in depth and then discussed in private sessions.
The Forum will see the participation of international representatives of development agencies, industrial clusters, companies, investment funds, economic diplomats and Italian executives, and will focus on cutting-edge technologies for the energy transition and applications for smart cities: green energy, mobility electronics, advanced services for citizens and the circular economy.

The objective is to develop joint projects between large international players and selected local companies and to foster innovation and technology transfer between SMEs and large companies globally.
Among the planned initiatives, international thematic workshops with subsequent b2b on the following topics: Sustainable mobility in urban areas; Photovoltaic technologies and applications; Green hydrogen technologies and applications; Circular economy and industrial cycles; Development of agrivoltaics in the Maghreb countries (in collaboration with Res4Africa); Energy transition in the ASEAN area, technological demands Coastal protection in the IORA area (Indian Ocean Rim Association).
“This is an event that will strengthen the centrality of our Region on a global scale, with Rome acting as an international attractor, but also involving the entire Lazio region in this particular challenge – said Rocca -. Especially in times of crisis and uncertainties in at a global level like the current one, we want to offer a new opportunity to markets and businesses, to encourage dialogue and collaboration through an economic diplomacy that sees us constantly committed to supporting the strategic role of Lazio for our country”.

The objective is to attract international business to Rome and Lazio to accredit the Capital as a reference center for innovative companies and foreign investors”.

As Unindustria we have chosen to actively support the Lazio Region and Lazio Innova, as we believe that this Forum responds to three fundamental priorities on which we have been committed for some time to improve the attractiveness of our territory and the competitiveness of the productive fabric: promoting greater international projection of the region and of our companies; promoting the repositioning of Lazio as one of the main regions European countries in the context of industrial development and to incentivize and enhance the many investments that companies are making in sustainability and the circular economy”.
