A final farewell, but without neglecting the outfit. Gennaro Tammaro imports it to Campania: the funeral director, representing the third generation at the helm of the agency of the same name, is in fact the first in the region to put a… urn bag in the catalogue.

The object, simultaneously a clothing accessory and final resting place for your loved one, bears the emblematic name of “Always with you”. The ashes of the deceased can be at the loved one’s side anywhere, in practice, thanks to the comfortable shoulder strap and a design designed to be easily combined with your style, whatever it may be.

“Naples is a city that has profound respect for death but also knows how to mock it. The Neapolitan cult of the dead, like pizza and coffee, should be transcribed and protected”, explain the Tammaro brothers, who are not new to this type of product (in the past they have already brought the plantable urn into the shadow of Vesuvius which becomes a tree and the urn-picture). “It is therefore not surprising that Naples – like other European cities – exorcises death by transforming ritual into something far from the macabre, pain into creativity, suffering into love”.

However, some might wonder what the difference is between an ad-hoc bag to carry the dearly departed around and simply transferring it into one of their own. In reality, the funeral company explains, the bag is an airtight container sealed upon delivery from the crematorium: “It is a question, in a nutshell, of transforming the cold tins or the sad jars and vases into something that can furnish, give colour, that can be worn.” It is no coincidence that together with the bag Tammaro also brought to the store a sort of colorful heart-shaped pillow urn, a furnishing accessory that “hides” the presence in the home of those who are no longer there.

“Having loved ones at the palm of your hand, within sight, helps many to still feel close to them. We don’t want to replace that caress that they will no longer be able to have, but at least know that when they turn their eyes to them again, there will not be an aseptic container but an explosion of beauty and colours. I believe there is a different, modern way of interpreting the passage and we want to be somewhat innovative towards this path”, concludes Tammaro.
