TRIESTE. On March 30, the Flying Squad of the Trieste Police Headquarters made two significant arrests as part of operations to combat drug trafficking. Those arrested, a Albanian citizen born in 1978 and a young Italian born in 2003, both residing in Triestewere arrested for possession and distribution of illicit substances.
Details of the arrests and searches
The police action was triggered by preliminary investigations which led to the issuing of two search warrants fromJudicial authority. The searches took place not only in the premises of the bar in Viale D’Annunzio managed by one of the arrested people but also in their residences.
During the searches, the police discovered a package containing a package in the Albanian citizen’s cellar 674.39 grams of cocaine. Other smaller quantities were found in his car and with his partner, the mother of the other arrested person. Furthermore, 4.17 grams of cocaine they were hidden in the car and 0.92 grams they were in the possession of his partner.
Significant findings in the Italian’s home
In the Italian citizen’s home, investigators found a safe. Not knowing the code, the safe was transported and opened by Fire fightersinside which approximately 100 grams of cocaine, 240 Ecstasy tablets, 90 grams of hashish, and another 225 grams of a still unidentified substance were discovered.
Legal consequences and seizures
The illicit substances and approximately 3,400 euros in cash were seized. The two men, on the recommendation of the Public Prosecutor Dr. Chiara Degrassiwere arrested in flagrante delicto and are now detained at the “Ernesto Mari” prison in Trieste, awaiting trial.
