“Citizenship deserves works in the present”

Punctual by nature. With this slogan and/or advertising spot the D’Alberto administration tries to present a management of the city with characteristics and strengths that it does not have.

The commitments and promises are not reflected in the state of facts. Public reconstruction is an example of this (think of the municipal headquarters) together with the stagnation of projects such as the reconstruction citadel or the management of the stadium or the municipal dog kennel (works announced in 2019) as well as the seismic adaptation of schools whose vulnerability indices they remained unchanged. The incredible situation of the construction site in Piazza Garibaldi represents further confirmation of the disorder and administrative incompetence as well as a communication eclipse to the detriment of the citizens who, loudly, are demanding answers and delivery times (already significantly postponed, despite the electoral exploitations! ).

The same answers that the administration should give on situations that are still blocked such as the camper area in the Gammarana district (suspended construction site). And I cannot ignore the Mayor’s forgetfulness about the petition, registered at the municipal offices and carried forward by the undersigned, regarding the project of the post office in the Villa Pavone district. The signatories have been waiting a long time. Even in this case, the promises to return the headquarters to the neighborhood committee seem to me to have been largely broken.

Today the first news arriving on the TAR ruling, a ruling which also directly involves the project on the new municipal theatre, once again presents us with a disconcerting municipal political-administrative management. The theater is closed. The works will most likely be subject to a potentially serious delay.

Since the project of the new municipal theater is linked to Pnrr funds, I hope that we do not run the risk of the project itself being defunded.

Even in this case something is not added but rather taken away from the city. The deficit of competence and capacity in the management and formulation of public policies damages citizens and, in this specific case, culture.

After six years of D’Alberto’s administration it is ridiculous to always hear people talking about the future. We should have already seen, in the present, these important changes promised and re-promised in the first and second mandate. And instead we are once again, in the here and now, faced with an uncertain construction site and a probable compensation to be paid.

The group leader and municipal councilor of Fratelli d’Italia
