‘Festini Perugia’, this is how Viterbo venues are also promoted outside the province. Interview with the creator Guglielmo Salvetti

PERUGIA – It’s called ‘Festini Perugia’ and it is a collector of ideas and initiatives that aims to inform and “get the kids of central Italy moving across a large territory. A godsend for locals in Umbria, Upper Lazio, Tuscany and Marche. But above all an opportunity for many young people, also to build communities and exchange ideas.

Among the founders Guglielmo Salvetti, student of the University of Perugia and in love with Viterbo. This is why the city of the popes is among those talked about and the offer of the Viterbo restaurants is also promoted outside the province. We interviewed him.

How did your project come about?

“Our project was initially born as a simple Whatsapp group in April 2022 for acquaintances and friendships. We immediately had a lot of success, at the time there was a limit of people for Whatsapp groups and so we created a page.

Hence the idea of ​​sharing events throughout the Umbrian territory and subsequently with the addition of events in neighboring areas such as Arezzo, Viterbo, Fabriano, with precise details of each event (prices, musical genre, type of musical event , dinner shows, DJ sets, cultural/literary etc.).

Basically we share events every day throughout the week (including Sunday). The project was created above all to help young people to go out and socialize after the bad period of forced isolation due to Covid 19. We also set ourselves the objective of re-evaluating the territory by making it smarter, easier, faster and more immediate in informing the initiatives of fun and meeting”.

How does it work and what goals did you set yourself?

“We insert the posters that locals send us every day from Monday to Sunday (events of all kinds and natures). We have also included community channels to make people socialize and within the community people communicate, organize dinners, outings, exchange ideas…

As objectives we aim to reach the institutions to talk about this project and above all help to promote the territory in all its beauties and initiatives. Another objective is to help young people: to get them back to socialising, talking and going out”.

Are you having success? How do you understand this?

“Yes, many also write to us from outside the region about events, asking us about prices, genres, what events are on the weekend. We are very happy to answer these questions by providing all the information possible and useful for them.”

Why are you interested in Viterbo?

“Well Viterbo is a beautiful town. I myself love historical and artistic cities, I really love traveling and exploring the beauties of every Italian city and Viterbo really impressed me.”
