Registrations are now open to participate in the free training courses organized byOipa (International Animal Protection Organization), to become zoophilic guard in the regions Campania and Molise. These courses, lasting approximately three months, will take place online, while the final test will be conducted in person.

The lessons are completely free and will start on May 20th. Registration applications will be accepted until May 17th. To participate, you must register as a meritorious member of Oipa, at a cost of 100 euros.

Explains Massimo Pradellanational coordinator of the Oipa eco-zoophile guards: «The Oipa volunteer zoophile guards hold the status of public officials, administrative police officers and, in the foreseen cases, judicial police. Their tasks include the prevention and repression of infringements relating to the protection of animals and the defense of local livestock heritage.”

The figure of the zookeeper is regulated by laws no. 611/13 and n. 189/2004 and other state and regional provisions on the protection of pets. The appointment as a private security guard of the Oipa is conferred by the Prefect by decree.

The training course organized by Oipa is aimed at adults, passionate about animals, determined and ready to make all their efforts available. The ideal candidates for this educational path must demonstrate a true passion for the cause, have a serious and responsible character, in tune with the values ​​of the association. Furthermore, a level of education no lower than a middle school diploma and a history without criminal convictions or pending judicial proceedings is required.

The Oipa eco-zoophile guards

L’International animal protection organization (Oipa) was founded in 1981, and is known worldwide as the first international confederation of animal rights and protectionist associations.

Born in 2002 with the first active nucleus in Milan and its province, the Oipa eco-zoophile guards they are present in 17 regions with 62 active provincial nuclei and are a point of reference for all those who care about respecting animal rights.

Today Oipa is present on five continents with over 200 member leagues spread across 61 nations. In Italy it is active with 150 local sections. The widespread presence in the territory has made it possible to reach where the voice of the weakest is not heard, distributing food to shelters, kennels and catteries throughout Italy, but also intervening in the event of serious natural disasters such as the earthquake in Abruzzo or the floods in Veneto , Sicily, Liguria and Lombardy.

The last three decades have seen Oipa engaged in multiple battles to pursue its main objective: the defense of animals. Every single battle was carried out with the commitment, conviction and unconditional passion of many volunteers. This has made it possible to achieve important results, all to the benefit of the animals.
