The First Division men’s Volleyball Augusta closes the tournament at the top of the rankings with 27 points, and is preparing to play on Saturday in Syracuse, the playoff semi-final against the Aretusei of Asd Pro Players.
In this first phase, coach Giovanni Caramagno’s team from Megara will play two matches: the first away from home and the second at home. Whoever of the two teams wins the most sets will go through, in the event of a tie the Golden Set will be played.
It must be said that the Volleyball Augusta will appear on Saturday against the Aretusei in a reshuffled lineup, due to the absence of two important elements such as Francesco Barbara and Mirko Sicari.
Saturday’s match was not easy for Volleyball Augustawho will also have to deal with the unpredictability of the Syracuse team, who on the last day of the championship beat the first in the standings at home Ragusa, slipping to second place.
Among the ranks of the Asd Pro Players of Syracuse, the setter from Augusta also stands out, recently called up for the 2023/2024 Men’s Regional Qualification project, who grew up in the youth teams of Volleyball Augusta and is the son of Alessio Cormaci, former volleyball player of Volleyball Augusta of series B.
