Pentenero sees Piedmont on a postcard

TOWARDS THE VOTE

2.36pm Friday 19 April 2024

Don’t indulge in easy irony, it’s the ace up the sleeve of the Democratic Party presidential candidate in the election campaign: the collection of images of cities and towns from every part of the region. Among the first proposals: the ius scholae and the abolition of the Vita nascente fund

A Piedmont on a postcard. That’s what he sees Gianna Pentenero, the candidate for the presidency of the Region for the center-left. Defying the easy irony on the outcome of a competition that sees the governor in office Alberto Cirio super favourite, the PD exponent relies on his passion as a collector of postcards and books on the history of Piedmontese municipalities to characterize his communication campaign on social media. Citizens will be able to send to the electoral committee in Corso England 5 a Turin or bring images directly to the stands that will be set up that report a problem affecting the area from which they are writing. then videos will be made, in which Pentenero picks up a postcard, comments on the report, and explains how he intends to tackle the problem.

This is just one of the initiatives that characterize the communication of an electoral campaign “in the name of colour” launched today at the Off Topic headquarters in Turin. His image in black and white, appropriately photoshopped (“But is it Cortellesi?”, more than one asked) accompanied by the words “Gianna Pentenero president, straight to the point for Piedmont”, will be replicated on multiple backgrounds: red for institutional communication, blue for healthcare, green for environment and agriculture, orange for transport, yellow for economy and work, fuchsia for culture, school and tourism. Posters of various sizes will be created for posting, as well as cards on the back of which the points of the program relating to the theme indicated on the front will appear. In the first phase, underway these days, communication will be without party symbols. On the fundraising front, from the institutional website of the electoral campaign there will be links to two external platforms, one for the collection of small donations, and another to give availability to volunteer in support of the candidate, in the area or digitally . A WhatsApp community will also be opened with the aim of creating a sort of “club dedicated to Gianna”, where you can find content that is not present elsewhere, such as back stage videos.

The presentation of the electoral campaign was also an opportunity to relaunch the ius scholae and reiterate opposition to the nascent life fund established by the Cirio regional council. “In my opinion – said the candidate – a lot of work needs to be done on the ius scholae: this is how the problem of the birth rate is addressed, and not with the nascent right-wing life fund”, established to finance anti-abortion associations. “If I become president – Pentenero clarified – I won’t keep that fund, because it provides a very modest sum, completely insufficient to tell a woman to make one choice rather than another. The institutions should all contribute together to ensure that citizens can have a life plan, for which first and foremost a job is needed. And we must do it for foreigners too, even if the laws don’t help us.” Pentenero then called her friend on stage Fatima Zahra El Maliani, a young woman born in Morocco and Italy from the age of two, without Italian citizenship but awarded the title of Knight of the Republic for her commitment to children during Covid. Fatima was also recently co-opted into the management board of Company of Saint Pauland for this reason she was celebrated today at the committee with a toast.
