The Perugia police headquarters issued 18 Daspo measures against as many people from Perugia, after the clashes between fans that occurred last March 23, during the Perugia-Pineto football match, valid for the national Serie C football championship. On one occasion, numerous fans had thrown seats and smoke bombs into the North Curve of the “Curi” stadium. Their conduct had also led the referee to suspend the match for a few minutes.

Last March 28, the police commissioner of Perugia had already issued three more Daspos against as many fans who, following the clashes, had been arrested by Digos.

The 18 provisions will prohibit the recipients from accessing football, Italian Cup, international cups and championship sporting events for a period ranging from five to ten years.

The 18 fans will also be prohibited – starting from two hours before and until two hours after the conclusion of the sporting event – from accessing and parking within 400 meters of the places in front of the stadium, the railway stations affected by the arrival or departure of fans, the public car parks of sports facilities, the training places and retreats of football teams, as well as, within 200 meters of distance from other places interested in the parking, transit or transport of those who participate or attend demonstrations.

Any violation of the ban may be punished with a prison sentence of between one and three years and a fine of between 10 thousand and 40 thousand euros.

In the same context, the prefect of the province of Terni, on the proposal of the Perugia police headquarters, also ordered the ban on the employment – at all national sports facilities – of five stewards who, on the occasion of the same football match, would have allowed illegal access to the stadium for some fans without tickets.
