The results of the competitive season for the athletic section of Cus Ferrara were not bad with the competitions taking place in the region for the major categories and in the city for the young people. Emma Brina takes fifth position in the 400 meters hurdles and Tommaso Ferrozzi improves his record.
In Modena the traditional Liberation Trophy was affected by bad weather and a temperature that was anything but propitious, which forced Filippo Torresin and Elena Bonafè to defect, but Emma Brina still took part, running the women’s 100 meters in 13.41, and the student Giorgia Francioso, with a time of 13.44. In the men’s 400 meters, Niccolò Cuoghi finished in 56.18, Lorenzo Abate in 59.22. Also in Modena, the 3rd Cus Unimore open regional meeting took place, in which six Cussini athletes participated: Emma Brina finished the 400 meters hurdles with a good 1:09.69, taking fifth position; Tommaso Ferrozzi, making his debut in the Junior category, ran the 200 meters in 23.61, improving his previous record by more than a second.
Good performance also for Elena Bonafè in the 800 meters with a time of 2:27.74. In the same men’s race, third place for Filippo Torresin with 1:54.63, Giovanni Padovan ran in 2:02.96 and Lorenzo Abate in 2:19.52. The youngest participated in the Provincial Multiple Trials Championships in Ferrara. In Tetrathlon A, which included the 60 meter, long jump, shot put and 600 meter events, Fabio Besutti scored 1073 points (9.9; 3.48 m, 5.75 m, 2:04.9) to place tenth in the event won by Lacalandra from Bologna from Pontevecchio (2092 points); the other Cussino Filippo De Carli scored 776 points (9.9; 3.05 m; 6.34 m; 2:15.1).
In the same women’s race, Sara Botti scored 1493 points, with 9.7 in the 60 meters, 3.23 meters in the long run, 6.97 in the shot put and 2:21.8 in the 600 meters; Anna Alvisi scored 1057 points (9.9; 2.87m; 5.79; 2:50.3. In the Tetrathlon B events, i.e. the 60 hs, the high jump, the vortex throw and the 600 meters, Malena Kona ranked ninth with 1870 points, with the best time in the 60 hs race (21.2), 1.08 in the high jump, 27.20 meters in the vortex and 2:12.4 in the 600 meters for the Cadet category, in the five events of the women’s pentathlon Beatrice Barigozzi placed sixth with an overall score of 2241 points: 13.9 in the 80 hs; 1.29 in the high jump; 14.45 in the javelin;
Soon the athletes of the higher categories will face the regional phase of the Club Championships on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May in Modena.
